Cochrane Rehabilitation & Cochrane Functioning, Disability and Rehabilitation represent the Cochrane Collaboration as a member of the World Rehabilitation Alliance (WRA), to advocate for the implementation of the Rehabilitation 2030 Initiative and better access to rehabilitation worldwide, as requested by the WHA76 Resolution on “Strengthening Rehabilitation in Health Systems”.

Bridging the Gap: Integrating Rehabilitation into Health Systems for Universal Coverage

Important paper published by the #WorldRehabilitationAlliance research workstream calling governments and the global health community to invest in setting a priority research agenda, with an emphasis on HPSR, and promote the integration of rehabilitation into health systems. This could help integrate and implement rehabilitation in health systems of countries worldwide, including LMICs and also help achieve the targets of #Rehab2030, UHC and the SDGs. A new Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Cochrane Rehabilitation and the Scientific Medical Alliance for Rehabilitation. 

The Scientific Medical Alliance for Rehabilitation (WMAR) aims to coordinate the work of the individual professional societies with regard to overarching goals and to strengthen and raise awareness of rehabilitation issues among all important actors in the German health care system. Read more…
